About Us
My name is Sheila, and I am the founder of Balitel. Balitel is an authorized seller of Telkomsel SIM and a subsidiary of Diamond Handphone, which is owned by my parents. I am proud to be the second generation in our small business. Diamond Handphone is also an authorized retailer of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and others.
I created Balitel to help smart and savvy travelers avoid overpaying for SIM cards before they even step out of the airport. SIM cards at Bali’s airport are the most expensive on the island, and as a frequent traveler myself, I know that—unlike in many developed countries—prices in Bali can vary widely from place to place. Countless travelers have confirmed the same thing: airport SIM prices are heavily marked up. If you want convenience and don’t mind paying extra, you can certainly buy one at the airport—but you don’t have to.
And…
Travel information about Bali is often scattered, incomplete, or unclear, whether it comes from blogs, social media, or even official government guides. That’s why my mission is twofold:
- to provide travelers with a reliable, honest, and transparent source for their tech needs—at fair prices, and
- to create the most complete, practical, and trustworthy Bali Travel Guide written from a true local perspective.
As someone who loves to plan holidays thoroughly, I appreciate concise and comprehensive guides, which serve as all-in-one resources. I want to bring that same clarity to travelers visiting Bali for the first time: helping them understand what to expect, navigate local culture, and avoid unreliable vendors who may offer low prices but leave you unsupported.
My focus is on quality, both in products and in service. My goal is that after reading this travel guide and experiencing Bali, you’ll be able to say, “I had the best time of my life in Bali—I can’t wait to come back.”
What truly sets my Bali Travel Guide apart is that it is written by a local Indonesian—someone who grew up here—rather than by travel bloggers who stay for 2 weeks and feel they already understand the island.
Because I also travel frequently, I understand both the local perspective and the needs and pain points of international travelers. This allows me to bridge both worlds and offer guidance that is practical, authentic, and culturally accurate.
This guide is dedicated entirely to Bali and presented in the most genuine, local way. If you want to experience Bali through the eyes of a true local, then this Bali Travel Guide is for you.
I also want to be transparent: I don’t use affiliate links, sponsored content, or paid promotions for hotels or travel products on this website. I don’t earn commissions from anything you click. I only earn money if you buy a SIM from me.
This means my recommendations are unbiased, and I have zero incentive to push you toward scams or overpriced services. My only goal is to help you have an honest, safe, and enjoyable experience in Bali.
