How It Works: Your Balitel eSIM from Order to Online
You can set up your Balitel eSIM in about 5 minutes. Most of it happens on WhatsApp. We do the hard parts for you. Here is every step, from buying to being online in Bali.
The short version: You buy → You fill up the registration form → We WhatsApp you a QR code → You scan it → We activate everything for you
Step 1 — You buy your eSIM
Pick a data size and pay on our eSIM page.
Not sure your phone can use eSIM? Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, your phone is ready. (Full list: eSIM compatible phones.)
Step 2 — You fill in the registration form
Indonesia asks every traveler to register their SIM. So we need your passport details in one short form. It takes 2 minutes. This is normal and required by law — here is why.
Step 3 — We WhatsApp you your QR code
After the form, you message us on WhatsApp. A real person from our Bali team helps you with every step. Support hours are 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM (Bali Time / GMT+8).
Your personal eSIM QR code arrives in that chat. Save the image to your photos. Keep it until your trip ends.
Step 4 — You scan and install it (2 minutes)
You can install the eSIM on the same phone that got the QR code. No second phone. No printing.
- iPhone: open the QR image in Photos. Tap and hold it. Tap Add eSIM. Full iPhone guide with video →
- Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. Then pick the QR image from your Gallery. Full Samsung guide →
- Xiaomi: Settings → Mobile networks → Manage SIM → Add eSIM. Then pick the QR image. Full Xiaomi guide →
Then turn the new Telkomsel line ON. It will say “No Service” for now. That is normal. It is not active yet.
Step 5 — We help you find your IMEI
Indonesia needs your phone's IMEI number before the eSIM can go live. Don't worry — we guide you on WhatsApp. It is so easy.
- iPhone: Settings → General → About
- Android: Settings → About phone
Step 6 — We activate everything for you
We register your IMEI with Telkomsel. Telkomsel approves it. We turn on your line and load your data. You get a WhatsApp message when it is live.
- Already in Indonesia? We activate right away. Your 30 days start today.
- Traveling later? We activate on your arrival date. You land with data working. You lose zero days.
Good to know: installing the eSIM does not start your 30 days. The clock starts only when we activate it. So you can set up days before you fly.

Do I need a second phone or a printer?
No. Everything works on the same phone that gets the QR code.
What if I get stuck?

Do I keep my home number and WhatsApp?
Yes. Your home SIM stays in your phone. WhatsApp keeps working on your usual number. The eSIM just adds an Indonesian line for data, calls, and OTP codes.
