Cheapest SIM Card at Bali Airport (2026): Every Kiosk Price for Telkomsel, XL and Indosat

Most people buy their first Indonesian SIM card at the airport, tired, with luggage, straight off the plane. So what does it actually cost, and which kiosk should you pick?
I checked. On 2 August 2026 I went to all three official SIM card kiosks at Ngurah Rai Airport and wrote down every price on their boards. Here is all of it.
The short answer
- The cheapest SIM card at Bali airport was Rp250,000 in August 2026, when Balitel checked every kiosk. Telkomsel, XL and Indosat all start at that price for a plastic SIM card. The eSIM version starts at Rp300,000.
- Same price, different data. For Rp250,000 you get 21GB at Telkomsel, 25GB at XL and 28GB at Indosat.
- Most data for your money: XL's 150GB plan for Rp600,000, the same price as a SIM card or an eSIM.
- There is no plan under 21GB, no Smartfren counter and no Rp150,000 plan at any airport kiosk.
- All three kiosks have a printed price board and take cards with no fee.
Prices checked at the kiosks on 2 August 2026. In September 2026 Telkomsel replaced its 21GB plan with a 20GB plan. I haven't re-checked the airport price for 20GB yet.

There are three official SIM card kiosks in the arrivals hall at Ngurah Rai Airport: Telkomsel, XL and Indosat. These are the prices on their boards on 2 August 2026.

For most plans the eSIM costs Rp50,000 more than the plastic SIM card (Rp100,000 more for Telkomsel's 100GB). XL's 150GB and Indosat's 153GB cost the same either way.
Which kiosk gives you the most data?
The three kiosks charge the same prices. What changes is how much data you get for that price.

Indosat's biggest plan is 153GB for Rp650,000. August 2026 airport prices.
At every price, XL or Indosat gives you more data than Telkomsel. Telkomsel's reason to pay more is coverage: it has the largest network in Indonesia, which helps most when you travel beyond Bali's busy south. I sell Telkomsel eSIMs, so weigh my view on that as you like. The data amounts above are simply what the boards said.
Where the kiosks are and how buying works
- Where: all three kiosks are in the arrivals hall at Ngurah Rai Airport.
- Fixed prices: each kiosk has a printed price board. Everyone pays the same, so there is nothing to haggle.
- Paying: all three took cards with no card fee in August 2026.
- Bring your passport. Indonesian law says a tourist SIM must be registered to your passport, and your phone's IMEI (its serial number) must be registered too. The kiosk staff do this for you.
- Your phone must be unlocked. A phone locked to your home network won't accept a new SIM.
- Expect a queue when several big flights land at the same time.
- Free wifi: the arrivals hall has free wifi with no password, handy while you wait. More about Bali airport wifi.
Is the airport dearer than shops in town?
Not really. In my survey, 88 local shops gave a price for Telkomsel's 21GB plan. The typical shop charged Rp250,000, exactly the airport price.
Buying at the first shop you see gave a 32% chance of paying more than the airport, and some shops asked up to Rp600,000 for the same plan. Comparing three shops saved about Rp30,000 (12%). See the full results, area by area.
The airport has no small plans
The smallest plan at any airport kiosk is 21GB. If you mostly use maps, WhatsApp and Grab, that can be more data than you need. In my survey, 10GB plans were only sold in town shops, typically for about Rp180,000.
Can you pay less than the airport?
Yes, in two cases. I run Balitel, so here are my own prices, plainly.
1. If you are already in Indonesia. Balitel's online prices are fixed in rupiah when you buy from Indonesia: 10GB Rp179,000, 20GB Rp231,000, 53GB Rp399,000 and 103GB Rp588,000.

The 20GB is Rp69,000 (23%) less than the airport's 21GB eSIM. The 103GB is Rp112,000 (16%) less than the airport's 100GB eSIM.
2. If you only need 10GB. The airport doesn't sell it. Balitel's 10GB is Rp179,000 when you buy in Indonesia, compared with Rp250,000 for the airport's smallest SIM card.

Depending on the exchange rate, the 20GB bought from abroad costs about the same as the airport's eSIM. What you get for it is time: no queue after a long flight, your phone's IMEI registered for you, and the line switched on before you land, so you can order a Grab the moment you walk out. You also get a real Indonesian +62 number, which Grab, Gojek and Indonesian e-wallets need to send you a sign-up code.

What is the cheapest SIM card at Bali airport?
In August 2026, the cheapest SIM card at Bali airport cost Rp250,000. All three official kiosks in the arrivals hall (Telkomsel, XL and Indosat) charged Rp250,000 for their smallest plastic SIM plan, with 21GB, 25GB and 28GB of data, and Rp300,000 for the eSIM version. There was no cheaper plan at any kiosk.
How much is a Telkomsel SIM card at Bali airport?
In August 2026 the Telkomsel kiosk at Bali airport charged Rp250,000 for 21GB, Rp350,000 for 36GB, Rp450,000 for 63GB, Rp600,000 for 100GB, Rp850,000 for 150GB and Rp1,100,000 for 200GB as a plastic SIM card. The eSIM cost Rp50,000 to Rp100,000 more. Telkomsel has since replaced 21GB with a 20GB plan, and the airport price for 20GB has not been re-checked.
Is there a Smartfren counter at Bali airport?
No. In August 2026 there were three official SIM card kiosks in the arrivals hall at Bali airport: Telkomsel, XL and Indosat. Smartfren is now part of XLSmart, the company behind XL.
Is there a Rp150,000 tourist SIM card at Bali airport?
Not at the airport kiosks. In August 2026 the cheapest plan at all three kiosks at Bali airport was Rp250,000 as a plastic SIM card, or Rp300,000 as an eSIM. If you have seen a lower price online, it was not on these airport price boards.
Can I buy an eSIM at Bali airport?
Yes. All three kiosks at Bali airport sell eSIMs. In August 2026 the eSIM cost Rp50,000 more than the plastic SIM card for most plans. XL's 150GB and Indosat's 153GB plans cost the same as a SIM card or an eSIM.
Do Bali airport SIM card kiosks take cards?
Yes. In August 2026 all three SIM card kiosks at Bali airport (Telkomsel, XL and Indosat) took cards with no card fee.
